“Pity those who love…Their very graveyard bear the dust of abasement.”
During 2008 in the underworld of Cairo, where the knife was the weapon of choice, where you scare your enemy not kill him but leave him to live in shame, a young man was seeking death called Ibrahim; an old man was seeking eternity called Abdul-Malek Zarzur and a dead man addicted to life called Ashry. All of them meet their past, and their past becomes their future.
It is a story of a friendship between Ibrahim and Ashry and how, because of Abdul-Malek Zarzur, it would turn out to be a betrayal to lead us to a tragic epic end. It is the modern underworld version of the story of Judas and the Messiah.
This video-editing is a tribute to the character Ashry that was played by the Egyptian actor Amr Waked, which is considered one of the best supporting characters in Egyptian Cinema. In addition to the fact that Ibrahim Labyad is one of the best Egyptian movies in the last 20 years.
